DIY Wrapping Paper

As Christmas is fast approaching, I have decided to do a DIY wrapping paper post. In the past I have just used the generic wrapping paper you can pick up at the stores. Now don't get me wrong, that works just as well, but I feel that DIY wrapping paper just puts a little twist on really personalizing gifts and the recipients really seem to appreciate it. And...it's FREE!

So without further ado...

The Necessities:
paper grocery bags
watercolor paints & paintbrushes
yarn/thread
just a little creativity

I first cut the paper bags in half
I then used the inside of the bag without the print on it
I painted repetitive designs all over the bag with watercolor paints ( I chose to do christmas trees and birds on one and hearts on the other)
let the paint dry (takes no more than 5 minutes)
wrap your presents and tie with some yarn or thread
you can also get creative and add beads or charms to the yarn as well

You can also make personalized tags with the scrap paper left over. I punched a hole in it and strung it through the yarn.

Most of all, just have fun with it!
Happy Crafting lovelies!
