Children are all foreigners

Bling Willie McTell-Lonesome Blue Days

"Children are all foreigners." -Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Emerson has such a way with his thoughts and words. He is one of my favorite poets/writer. I find this quote to be so very true. As we grow older we seem to want to be like everyone else. We seem to feel like we must walk and talk and behave like everyone else. We feel we must dull down our emotions and reactions to fit society's mold. While children take everything for what it is. Children do not fear showing their true feelings. They cry when they are sad. They scream when they are upset. They laugh at funny or embarrassing things, even if that means making someone else feel awkward. Children follow their heart and not their head. There is something so beautiful about that. I try to remember to view things with my heart more than my head. I will never again see things the way I did when I was a child, and that saddens me. But I will strive everyday to see the beauties and simplicities in life. As I walked today to work, I listened to the birds chirping, calling my name and lifting my spirit. Things like that, just little things, make my day.

On a side note: I'm really into old time blues. Hope you enjoy the music!
