Holiday Wish List-Jewelry

This is dangerous business...me looking online for pretty jewelry to post. Makes me want to go on a crazy jewelry shopping spree.

I am very picky about the jewelry I wear because once I find something I like, I usually wear it all the time. That being said, I am pretty sure I would be happy with any one of these pieces.

Enjoy!

I love these nature inspired rings from this wonderful Etsy shop

I love this skeleton key necklace from this Etsy shop

These diamond rings from this Etsy shop are incredible. I love how imperfect and beautiful they are

Finally, these tiny rings are adorable from this Etsy shop and this Etsy shop

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!
The snow is beautifully falling where I am right now.
Definitely puts you in the holiday spirit

What's for breakfast!?

Bon Iver-Skinny Love

So my new favorite thing in the mornings is to heat up some strawberries and blueberries over the stove, throw a whole wheat waffle in the toaster, gloriously join the two together, and top with fat free whipped cream, Add my moose mug and some coffee and that, to me my friends, is a perfect morning. I love sitting down with my breakfast and coffee and browse the blogging world and see what all of you lovelies are up to.

I am off today to visit my best friend Nathan and stay with him for 5 days. We rarely get to spend so much time together and I cannot wait! That, however, means that I might be seemingly absent from the blogging world until Thursday unless I get a little time to sneak a post or two. So be patient and, hey there are always the archives if you want to look back!

Nooks

What is it about nooks that draw us in?
As children we would escape for hours to far off lands while hiding under draped sheets and linens.
And yet as we grow older we still seem to have such a pull towards recreating those scenes.
I love nooks.
My bed lies by a big window overlooking my street. I have it pushed up against two walls, pillows stacked, twinkling lights turned on. It is my little nook. My little haven.
It seriously is a place that brings me such happiness. No matter how stressed I am or what mood I am in, I can come to my nook, pick up a novel, turn on some music and escape.
It is truly magical...

Alphonse Mucha

Kaki King-Fortuna

I am finally done with exams and can relax. Let me tell you, there is no better feeling. So, as a treat to myself tonight, I decided to take a nice long lavender bubble bath. I listened to some old school jazz, lit some candles and soaked until I couldn't soak no more!

It really got me thinking that we should all take more time for ourselves, even if it's just 20 minutes, to recenter ourselves. Little things like bubble baths can make a world of difference.

Anyways, for some reason the jazz and the candles got me thinking about the amazing artist Alphonse Mucha. He is one of my favorite artists and used to do those old school advertisements for absinthe and for theater productions in France in the early 1900's. He is fantastic and his portrayal of women and femininity is simply stunning. I have one of his prints that I found in San Francisco mounted on my wall. She always reminds me to embrace who I am.

this is the one I have. on the left. Called "Study for the Moon"

oh and this is one I drew and colored a while back based off of one of his creations. Imitation is the best form of flattery right??

Anyways, I adore his style
His ladies will always inspire me.....

Feels good to be back my friends.
Keep your eyes peeled for some interesting posts to come.

What's for Breakfast?!

continuing in my culinary adventures, I decided to cook a shrimp and veggie fritatta for breakfast. It turned out pretty delicious if I do say so myself. Mmmmmm lip lickin' good in fact.

Ingredients:
Egg beaters egg whites
red bell pepper
spinach
onions
shrimp (left over from dinner the night before)

Suggested Listening Music:
Anything Jack Johnson

Jack johnson- Flake

mix egg beaters egg whites with a dash of milk
sautee the veggies (cook the red bell pepper and onion first, followed by the shrimp and spinach)
mix eggs and sautee in a bowl
you can either use cupcake liners or cooking spray (I used cooking spray) and spray a large cupcake tin
pour your mix and cook at 425 for 10-15 minutes.
(I know this sounds vague but every oven is different. I just kept checking mine with a fork. Once it wasn't gooey and it started to brown a bit, I took it out)
Let cool a bit, plate it, and add in some toast and a coffee why don't you??!

All the best in your own culinary adventures!
