Way too long

Wow, has it really been a month since my last post??!
Apologies my lovely readers. School has been so incredibly overwhelming. I have barely had time to maintain the necessary things in life like hygiene and personal relationships, let alone even thinking about blogging. I only have 3 more weeks of classes and then I am off to Seattle with my lovely friends Nate and Kirk. I seriously cannot contain my excitement. I have some serious tunnel vision right now and that is the only thing getting me through these last few weeks.

I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I haven't forgotten about this little blog of mine. I also wanted to share a little gem with you all.

Today I went for my morning Starbucks and was graciously surprised by the cashier. his name is Stephen (I found out after looking at my receipt). Anyways, he had such a wonderful demeanor about him

.
Here was our conversation:

S: Well good morning, how are you?? What Can I get for you today?
Me: Morning. Are you just brewing the Pike Place today?
S: Oh no, I'm also brewing a lovely Italian Roast.
Me: Oh okay, I was confused because you only had the sign up for the Pike Place brew.
S: (looking back at the brewers, turns to me) yells Fake Out! But seriously we are brewing an Italian Roast as well.
Me: Haha okay, I was wondering.... Anyways can I get a grande soy Italian roast misto?
S: Soy Italian Roast Misto... looooove itttt. What's your name?
Me: Morgan
S: okay Morgan you have a fabulous day!
Me: Thank you! You too (walking away with a huge smile on my face)

The thing I love about this guy was how exuberantly happy he was. He was like this with every customer, complimenting them on their outfits, or wishing them a lovely day. It really made me think about how we as a human race can really affect each other both positively and negatively with our emotions and reactions. It made me really want to make a conscious effort to exude happiness. Life is too damn short to get caught up on the negative things. As I left Starbucks with my coffee in hand, I passed an elderly man on my way back to work. He looked up and I couldn't help but smile back. Stephen had gifted me with a bit of his happiness and I feel it will last me the rest of the day. The older man smiled back and said hello and went on his way but I couldn't help but feel that Stephen's happiness had also indirectly rubbed off on this man as well. It is a beautiful thing....happiness. We need more people like Stephen in this world to remind us of the beauty of life. I am really going to aspire to exude and spread happiness from now on.

Anyways, just thought I would share that little gem with you lovelies. (Hopefully Stephen can continue to spread his happiness!) I will leave you with a song by Bob Marley called "Three Little Birds". It has become my mantra recently to help me get through the stress of exams.
